Photography lets me remember all of the places I've lived and visited, and saves them in a single point in time. I love to show creativity though a form of art I enjoy and that can show the world though my perspective.
What did you learn during this contest preparation? I learned that there is a lot of work that goes into a contest, and that there are very few pictures that are good enough to go to contests. I also learned some valuable skills with Photoshop (I've always wanted to learn how to use it...and now I know some of the basics and more). Most enjoyable? Editing and seeing all the pictures I took on a big screen. It's completely different seeing your pictures on your small little camera screen to seeing it on the big Mac computers. Challenging? Sometimes I didn’t know how to edit something properly, or I just couldn’t get it to look right. What makes a great competition image? Proper balancing, color, and other good editing skills. It also helps to tell a story or to be something different or interesting that will catch a person's eye. You don't want your picture to be uncreative or something a person's seen a million times before. What would you change for next year about your entries or editing? I would like to have more places to shoot at, maybe going by myself and going to places, or having better quality pictures from previous cameras of my own.
